“I was just coming home from a vacation”, Kathleen recalls. “I wasn’t expecting anything more than jet lag and dirty laundry. And I certainly wasn’t looking for love.”
A longtime resident of Woodbury, Kathleen was a familiar face in Waterbury’s healthcare community, advancing healthcare locally, serving in leadership positions at Waterbury Hospital for over a decade. However, that in-flight spark didn’t fade after landing. Before too long, Kathleen was packing up her life in Woodbury, saying goodbye to her colleagues in Waterbury and boarding a one-way flight to follow her heart – and never look back.
Creating a Business from the Heart
Today, Kathleen lives in Southern Italy with the Italian flight attendant, now husband, who swept her off her feet 40,000ft above the Atlantic Ocean, somewhere between Rome and New York. She is the founder of K&A Travel Experts, LLC, a boutique travel company creating luxurious Italian travel experiences rooted in tradition and authenticity. Kathleen specializes in the Amalfi Coast, famous for its cliffside landscape, lemon groves and coastal glamour and, the Cilento Coast, a quieter, less-traveled paradise of medieval villages, cuisine from local soil with legendary taste and southern hospitality.
